In Ext JS 4, event listeners that affect multiple views and/or the data package are typically placed within Controllers. Event listeners that only affect the view in which they've been triggered typically remain within the view itself to help with encapsulation.

Component events and the arguments that are transmitted to their respective handlers are listed within the API docs as illustrated by the figure below.
