Working with Data Bound Views

Page of 168

Ext JS contains the following views that must be bound to Stores in order for them to render output properly:

  • The combo box (xtype: combo), is a pick list that has support for autocomplete, remote loading, store filtering, custom data input, and other features. It is similar to a combination of an HTML text <input> field merged with an HTML <select> box.
  • The grid panel (xtype: grid), is a highly customized <table> that can display a virtually unlimited amount of information in a highly structured output of rows and columns.
  • Charts (xtype: chart) can render data from a store in a variety of graphical formats using your browser's native drawing API.

Note: You will cover Charts later in this unit.
